About this course

Upon completing this module, you will be able to identify the significance of ethics in procurement and supply, define each stage of the sourcing process, and explain how operational performance can be measured and improved to support added value operations.The significant impact on reputation and customer perception means that ethics and responsible procurement should be at the heart of all organisational procurement and supply activity. A successful organisation will strive to add value at every stage of its operations and will seek ways to measure and improve performance. This module is designed for those responsible for applying ethical codes of conduct in procurement and supply operations, and who are expected to know how to address potential conflicts of interest. They must also define tasks associated with each stage of the sourcing process and identify the techniques available to achieve added value, recognising how operational performance can be measured and improved.Did you know: The UK was one of the first countries in the world to introduce legal requirements for ethical procurement in the public sector, through the Modern Slavery Act 2015.Under this law, any organisation with a turnover above £36 million must report on the steps they take to prevent slavery and human trafficking in their supply chains. This means procurement teams must look beyond price and quality; they’re legally obligated to consider human rights and labour conditions when selecting suppliers.This module has four outcomes.
