CIPS Level 3 - Socially Responsible Procurement [L3M5]
About this course
On completion of this module, you will be able to explain the concepts and implications of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility and recognise the potential environmental impact of procurement and supply operations.Company reputation can be severely damaged if the organisation or one of its suppliers is seen to be neglecting sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Similarly, against a background of increasing public and governmental concern for the environment, organisations have come under increasing pressure to reduce the environmental impact of their operations. This module is designed for those working in procurement and supply who should recognise their responsibility to ensure sustainable and socially responsible practices.Did you know: Socially responsible procurement aims to use purchasing power to create positive social, economic, and environmental outcomes. The UK government made socially responsible procurement a legal duty under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, meaning public bodies must consider how their purchases can benefit society, not just deliver services. For example, a local council buying construction services might choose a supplier that also hires local apprentices or reduces carbon emissions, ensuring public money helps build stronger, fairer communities. This module has four outcomes. We have a bit of ground to cover, so let's get started.
