About this course

This Capstone Project course is the culminating experience of the Digital Healthcare & AI Specialization. After completing the first three courses and building foundational knowledge in health informatics, healthcare data management, interoperability, and AI applications, learners will apply their accumulated knowledge and skills to complete a real-world project that demonstrates their mastery of the specialization. Designed for intermediate to advanced learners, this course provides hands-on experience in developing a solution for a Clinical Health or Public Health challenge. Students will integrate with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and FHIR servers, simulate patient journeys, and analyze population-level trends using healthcare data frameworks. By the end of the course, learners will have completed a portfolio-quality capstone project that demonstrates their ability to solve real-world health informatics challenges and contribute to meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery.
