About this course

Are you curious about how we landed at the current crossroads in our culture? This course offers basic terminology and some of the history of our culture wars, what's at stake, and tools with which to develop your own approach to these topics. Welcome to Peace in Action!  We are Dr. Gerri Budd and Professor Donnalynn Scillieri, and are very happy to meet you and to share our university experience with you. Peace in Action is an educational firm providing workshops, classes and programs to help our clients create workplaces that are more open, civil, welcoming, and inclusive. The material was created by two university professors to create safe ways to talk about psychological safety, mental health, wellness, and belonging. We are proud to be a zero waste-to-landfill company.Our approach to training emphasizes understanding, kindness, and zero judgment. We invite our workshop participants to connect their own lives and experiences to our current national debates, and our unique program welcomes all - all - perspectives and encourages people to navigate towards embracing the values of psychological safety. We also work to help participants understand how the values of equality, tolerance, and inclusion help everyone to experience better living and working environments.Dr. Budd and Professor Scillieri have appeared on News12 New Jersey (USA), published in the Bergen Record (North Jersey Newspapers – USA) and were awarded the Ramapo College of New Jersey (USA) Presidential Coin.
