This course provides a clear, structured introduction to quantum physics at A-level and equivalent pre-university standard, designed to build both conceptual understanding and exam success. It is ideal for students studying A-level Physics, IB Physics HL, AP Physics, Cambridge International, or similar qualifications worldwide.You will begin by exploring the failure of classical physics and the experimental evidence that led to quantum theory, including blackbody radiation and atomic line spectra. The course then develops the photon model of light, covering photon energy, threshold frequency, work function and the photoelectric effect, with clear explanations of key experiments and their significance.The course continues with atomic structure and quantised energy levels, including energy level diagrams, emission and absorption spectra, and the use of spectral evidence to support atomic models. You will then study wave–particle duality, learning how both light and matter exhibit wave-like and particle-like behaviour. This includes detailed coverage of de Broglie’s hypothesis, electron diffraction and the calculation of particle wavelengths.Throughout the course, there is a strong focus on exam technique and problem-solving. You will work through fully explained worked examples, typical exam questions, and multi-step calculations, with guidance on common mistakes and how to access top-level marks (Grade A/A*). Graph interpretation, use of standard equations, and clear written explanations using correct scientific language are all emphasised.By the end of the course, you will be confident explaining quantum ideas clearly, applying equations accurately, and tackling challenging exam-style questions with confidence.
