Congratulations! You made it to the ORAL DEFENSE! Finally, getting to the Oral Defense stage in your graduate coursework can be a fun and exciting time. But, for some students, it can also be terrifying! Many fears may surface for students when it's time to embark on the oral defense. Worries about presenting all your information clearly and concisely fears of presenting to an academic community, or fears about the question and answer portion of the presentation! You are not alone in your fears, and to be honest, they are all common before students prepare for the oral defense. Presenting your Oral Defense doesn't have to be so scary. This course is designed to gently guide you through the process and remove the anxiety and mystery out of the oral defense process so that you will know exactly what to expect when you step into the room.In this course, you will learn a three-step plan for preparing for an Oral Defense and the information you will need to have on each slide to ensure your success. You will also learn how to manage your anxiety and prepare for the dreaded Q/A session at the end of your Big Talk. This course contains engaging video and audio lectures, all aimed at ensuring that you know what you need to know before your oral defense date.
