About this course

Stick Up for Yourself and Build Confidence will help your child build self-awareness about what they believe and what they have to offer society. Your child will feel more empowered, comfortable, and confident. This confidence is the shield that will carry them from childhood through adulthood with the ability to speak up and speak out for themselves and others. If you are concerned that your child might not be prepared to go to middle school, high school, or public school, Stick Up for Yourself and Build Confidence will help.The following topics will be discussed in each section:Section 1: Giving and Earning Respect: students will define and analyze the concepts of respect and self-respect.Section 2: Identifying Strengths and Weaknesses: students will identify their strengths and pinpoint ways to use their weaknesses to their advantage.Section 3: Clarifying Values: students will identify their values and analyze how their values influence the decisions they make.Section 4: Avoiding Stereotypes: students will learn what stereotypes are and analyze the effects of applying stereotypes to people.Section 5: Developing Personal Power: students will recognize that they have the power to affect what happens in their lives.Workbooks are included to download for each section.
